Watch Out!
I was sitting on the couch taking a look at some flyers when I across bestbuy. After looking at some deals and new releases of games and movies, I glared at the mobile section. There it was “IPHONE 4”. So then I started to realize that apple is taking over everything related to electronics.
In music, they have the best music player on the market, the ipod. Now the ipod releases new models each year which blows away the previous model, in terms of design, feature or compatibility. Another major part of the music industry that apple controls is the distribution of the music to the public: itunes. Itunes is the biggest marketplace of music, and the most trusted place to get the highest quality of legitimate music. Every single artist releases their music on itunes, its unheard of that an artist doesn’t.
Apple has now taken control of the mobile market. When apple released the iphone 2g, it was a big deal but not everyone could afford the huge price tag. As the 3g launched for $199 it swept the whole world. Everyone had an iphone in their hand. it was the most innovative phone on the market, and it introduced the big trend of a touchscreen phone. Every single company had a touchscreen phone released within 6 months of the release of the iphone 3g. Now they have released the iphone4 which has an even cheaper than what the 3g was released for. Not only is it cheaper but it offers way more than the iphone 3g: a sleeker design, more memory, a 5mp camera, HD recording, a very vivid screen and the same great apps. This will result in everyone buying the iphone, because it offers way more than most phones on the market, and at a price of $159 it’s hard to resist.
Apple started out as a computer company, but microsoft had lead in that department because of cheaper hardware and easier software alterations. As time goes on, many people are switching to Mac’s because of their beauty and simplicity. Let’s face it, apple is a company known for making high quality merchandise that looks appealing. Although the price of Mac’s are higher than PC’s you get way more. An example of a place where apple is taking over the computer industry is in post secondary, more than 50% of students in either college or university have a macbook. These students will grow up to use macs too, so I’m sure it won’t be long before every household has a mac.
So watch out all you companies, apple is coming to take over!
